Students in grades 5-8 are eligible for band. Lessons are given at the public school. The parents make arrangements with the band instructor at the public school regarding instrument purchase or rental and lesson fees. Students may be excused from regular classes to attend their band lessons but are expected to complete the required assignments.
Intramural co-ed basketball is offered as a competitive sport by Zion Lutheran. Other sports may be offered from time to time. Parents are free to allow their children to participate in sports at Mobridge Junior High. The rule for home work done in advance for a planned absence also applies here. Again, students must be doing satisfactory academic work before participating in any extra curricular activities.
